About

I have loved gardens and being outside for as long as I can remember. Some of my strongest childhood memories are of spending time in the greenhouse with my grandparents and of lying on the grass looking at plants. That feeling of being a child pottering at the bottom of the garden is something I’ve been trying to recreate in various ways for my entire adult life.

After studying French, film and anthropology, I had a short career in documentary film before I found the outdoors again and have spent the past 14 years working in horticulture and organic small scale agriculture: in church gardens, London parks, on rooftop market gardens and large scale farms in Suffolk and the Welsh borders.

Over the years, I have woven design into my work to help people create spaces that are functional and beautiful and that allow people to feel at home. I take inspiration both from the world of food growing and landscape design, and have a preference for unusual, and resilient plants and truly sustainable materials.

I believe in the transformative power of being connected to the natural world and have the privilege to experience it every day. I believe that landscapes, food, and farms have a huge role to play in our changing world and can help us become a more resilient, connected society. All of my work centres around helping people to experience this feeling, whether it be in private gardens, in the public realm or in the community.
